AWS has enabled Step Functions workflows to be used as tools for AI agents via Amazon Bedrock AgentCore Gateway. This integration allows agents to trigger existing Standard and Express workflows, ensuring multi-step business processes execute consistently. For instance, a support agent can initiate a refund workflow that handles eligibility checks and approvals automatically. The feature is available in all AWS Regions where AgentCore Gateway operates, with standard pricing for both services.
